Writing system in Gawarbati language strengthened

Jan 15, 2021: Chitral Forum for Language Initiatives (FLI) held a three day workshop for strengthening of writing system in Gawarbati language in Arandu village, situated  alongside Afghan border in southern Chitral this week. In total 12 people, including government school teachers, language researchers and activists attended the sessions held under FLI’s Orthography and Writers’ Workshop series. Preserving Endangered Languages of Northern Pakistan – Forum for Languages Initiative (FLI)

Forum for Language Initiatives (FLI) is a training and resource center working with communities in Northern Pakistan (including the regions of Gilgit, Baltistan, and Chitral) to preserve endangered languages there. They have recently developed a video documentary covering their work for the preservation of mother languages. We commend FLI on this wonderful initiative, and wish them all the best in their endeavor to preserve these languages. Note: This forum is open to providing support to such initiatives.
