FAO distributes Rabi packages in newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: 14 November 2019, Peshawar – The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has started distribution of Rabi packages to 8 000 households, including 410 women-headed households, in the tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These packages are being distributed under the DFID-supported project, “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Merged District Programme,” where FAO is providing 50-kilograms of certified wheat seeds, 25-kilograms of pea seeds and Rhode grass fodder seeds to each household. UN Women and KP Ombudsperson sign MoU on protection of women against sexual harassment

The UN Women Pakistan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Ombudsperson on the protection of women against sexual harassment at workplaces. The agreement was signed between K-P’s first Ombudsperson Rukhshanda Naz and UN Women Pakistan Deputy Country Representative Aisha Mukhtar. “Now that the office of Ombudsperson is active, we will like to emphasize the execution and smooth implementation of the workplace harassment law so that the environment is safe for women to reach their full potential and contribute to the economy,” Naz stated. FAO distributes Kharif packages in tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Peshawar: Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has started distributing Kharif packages to 8,500 households that includes 265 women headed families in the tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This is part of the JICA and DFID funded projects, where FAO is providing certified 20-kilogram certified maize seed, 10 kilogram French beans seed and Rhode grass fodder seed to each household.   The improved climate resilient crops seed packages are provided to support the farming families in restoration of crop production.
